Top ten marketing company lists: how to choose an agency in Uzbekistan

Searching for a top ten marketing company gives you lists, and lists rarely say who will do good work for you. This page explains where such ratings come from in Uzbekistan, what they cannot measure, and which questions, documents and warning signs actually separate a working agency from a well-marketed one.

Where top ten lists come from

Most rating articles are content marketing. Someone writes a page about the best agencies in the city, includes their own company first, fills the rest with names, and collects search traffic. Some directories go further and sell placement in the list outright.

A few rankings do use criteria — turnover, staff numbers, awards. Those measure the size of the agency, not the quality of the work you will receive, and in a market this size a bigger agency often means a more junior team assigned to a smaller client.

None of this makes the lists useless. Treat them as a way to find candidates, then verify each one yourself. Just do not treat position three as better than position seven.

What a rating cannot tell you

It cannot tell you who will actually work on your project. The people in the case studies and the people answering your messages in month four are often different, and nobody publishes that.

It cannot tell you whether the agency understands your niche. Excellent work for a coffee chain says little about the ability to sell industrial equipment to procurement managers who read specifications.

And it cannot tell you how the agency behaves when results dip. That is the only test that matters over a year, and it never appears in a ranking.

Questions that filter agencies quickly

Ask what happens in the first month, concretely. A serious answer describes an audit, an offer, a keyword or creative test and a reporting schedule. A vague answer about strategy and brand awareness usually means the plan does not exist yet.

Ask who produces the creative. In Uzbekistan the life of a reel is short, so someone has to shoot new material continuously. If everything is subcontracted, ask what happens when the subcontractor is busy.

Ask how they would measure success on your project, and listen for a single primary metric. Agencies that name six metrics at once are giving themselves room to report a win regardless of outcome.

Read the case, not the logo wall

A row of client logos proves nothing — one small job puts a logo on that wall. A case is different: it names the task, the channel, the period and a number that belongs to a defined metric.

Check that the metrics are not being blended. Requests from lead forms, app installs, subscribers and reach are separate things, and adding them together is a way to make a modest result look large.

To be explicit about our own: LoadMe, an application for carriers, has 7 946 app users. MSC, a B2B medical equipment supplier, received 407 lead-form requests, and Leader Audit received 97 — that is 504 requests in total from lead forms across two clients, and those 504 have nothing to do with the 7 946. We also work with the logistics company Yoldosh.

Contracts, access and who owns what

Before signing, settle ownership. The advertising account, the analytics, the Search Console property, the domain and the site should be registered to you, with the agency invited as a user.

Ask for source files as a deliverable. Our design and branding work hands over the sources — logo, identity, guidelines — because a brand you cannot edit without calling your former contractor is not fully yours.

Agree the currency and payment schedule in advance, in sums or dollars, and keep the media budget as a separate line from the agency fee. Mixing them is how clients lose track of what the platform actually spent.

Red flags worth walking away from

Guaranteed positions, guaranteed cost per lead, promises of first place within a week. Nobody can commit to those before a test, and quoting them is a sales technique rather than a forecast.

Prices far below the market. Agency work at a fraction of the usual rate means either a trainee learning on your budget or a template applied without thought, and both are more expensive than they look.

Reluctance to give access, refusal to name the team, no reporting schedule, and campaigns run from the agency's own account. Each of these makes leaving difficult, which is usually the point.

Running a sensible trial period

Start with a defined scope and a defined period — a test month with agreed deliverables, or a single service rather than a full package. Judge the process as much as the result: were reports on time, were questions answered, did they say when something failed?

Do not change everything simultaneously during the trial. If the offer, the site and the creatives all change in the same fortnight, the outcome cannot be attributed to anything.

Expect the first month to produce data rather than profit. That is normal in any market and especially here, where creative fatigue is fast and the same audience is reached repeatedly.

Where Jar Agency fits

We are a full-cycle agency in Tashkent: targeted advertising, SMM, video production, design and branding, websites and applications, and SEO. Targeted ads, SMM, video and SEO start at $500; sites and branding are priced per project.

We do not claim a place in anyone's top ten and we do not promise numbers before a test. What we can describe is the process — audit, offer, test month, weekly reporting on paid channels, Search Console data for search — and the clients above who can be checked.

For reference, the query "top ten marketing company" shows roughly 10 searches a month in this market with a competition index of 0. It is worth knowing that the list you land on was written by someone with an interest in the answer.

Частые вопросы

Are top ten marketing company rankings reliable?+

Rarely. Most are content marketing written by an agency or a directory, and some sell placement. Use them to collect candidate names, then check each agency yourself: the first-month plan, the team assigned to you, the reporting schedule and who owns the accounts.

What should I ask an agency before signing?+

What exactly happens in month one, who produces the creative, which single metric defines success, how often you get reports, and whose name the advertising and analytics accounts are registered in. Clear answers to those five questions filter out most weak candidates.

Is a bigger agency a safer choice?+

Not automatically. Size tells you about the company, not about the team assigned to your account, and smaller clients at large agencies often get the most junior staff. Ask directly who will run your project day to day and whether you can speak to them before signing.

Why will you not promise a cost per lead?+

Because that number depends on your niche, city, season, offer and how fast you answer messages, and none of it is known before a test. Any figure given in advance is a sales promise, not a forecast. After a test month we plan using your own campaign data.

What does working with Jar Agency cost?+

Targeted advertising, SMM, video production and SEO start at $500, with SEO priced per month. Websites, applications, design and branding are quoted per project because scope varies widely. Advertising budgets are agreed separately and stay visible as their own line.
